F2AGRI is a project to use the reclaimed water from a food processing company in the neighbouring arable fields to irrigate the vegetables that are to be processed in the same company.
Effluent from a WWTP is reclaimed using lagooning techniques and chlorination. The reclaimed water has been used for over 20 years to irrigate all kinds of crops in the region, from potatoes to olive trees.
An example of reusing water within the same company. A rose farm (essential oils) that irrigates the next years crop with wastewater from the extraction process of the current years harvest.
